The Gifted Blog

Thank You Giveaway

As some of you know, when I started The Gifted Blog, I had it in mind to start a reusable gift wrapping line. I thought the blog would be a nice compliment to my small craft business, a place where I could share ideas and eventually promote my work.

Though I made a few batches of items, turns out I like blogging better! (I enjoyed the sewing, but what I didn't enjoy was the pricing, the logistics of setting up an Etsy shop, and the thought of packing and shipping up my items...ugh.)

I feel lucky to have readers who encourage, inspire and engage me. I thought it would be only fitting to thank you with some items from the gift wrapping line that got this whole thing started. The first 15 people to enter will receive a handmade gift card holder, perfect for personalizing what might otherwise be a generic gift! Of all the things I made, this is my favorite product.

So, thank you, readers! The Gifted Blog wouldn't make any sense without your readership, participation, and voice. To enter, leave a comment with: 1) your e-mail address (unless you're positive I know it) and 2) what you most appreciate about The Gifted Blog. You'll get an e-mail from me if you're one of the first 15!

Subscribe for free. Get future Gifted posts delivered to your inbox or blog reader!

  4. Hiya :) Its Kimberj kim.jameyson@gmail.com I really enjoy the beautiful ideas you having for dressing up a simple package. I also enjoy the gift ideas that your other readers share. I have a list of blogs that are my favorites and I check them everyday, you're on that list! It makes me so happy to wrap gifts while recycling.

  5. 1. I'm pretty sure you have my real email... but just in case the one that I publish is eirinnelizabeth@gmail.com (CAREFUL of the spelling!)

    2. I like the gifted blog because I like the really unique and beautiful ways that you engage with a mundane sort of art. I like that it's an everyday practice and a very good one at that and I like the overlapping themes of art and life.

Also, just so you know what it will be used for, we have a particularly generous friend who donated an unexpectedly large amount towards our trip. I'd like to give her a thank you!

  6. Charissa! congrats! the blog has been a fun way to keep up with your crafts, as well as sneak peeks into your everyday life. The premise of the blogs itself forces me to also put more thought into things that could be easily dismissed as disposable.
    keep it up!

  7. Adorable. I could see where an etsy store would be frustrating. That said, I still think you should make a go of it someday. Your designs are adorable.

What I appreciate most about your blog is that it provides a nice break to the day. I love seeing what you come up with, even though I'm not the greatest at putting your ideas into action.

I love that you are Stacey's friend I met when I visited her at Oxy; I remember you made shirts and items that were so unique and creative. I work in an office and do not get to practice much creativity, so Stacey was excited to share your blog with me. Taking a quick break to read your newest posts and see your beautiful creations is such a treat, and gets my creative wheels turning!

    Thank you for being fabulous!

  11. So adorable! I love your little envelopes.

Reason #1 I enjoy The Gifted Blog: it fills a truly unique (and fascinating) niche within the online craft/design community, and your joyful passion for the subject of gift wrapping truly shines through in every post. :) It inspires me to put a little more handmade love in the presentation of every gift -- which makes the process of giving all the more special.

  12. Charissa! Those are beautiful! :) Do you have at least some on Etsy, or did you decide to scrap the shop entirely? Maybe you could do a sale like what Stacey organized for you freshman year (your senior year)! Anyway, what I appreciate about the Gifted Blog is that each post is so thoughtfully written, from the clear photos to the free-of-snark yet interesting writing. You've been doing great! :D

  13. Me too! Love your gift card holder and would probably keep one all to myself. I love everything about the Gifted Blog, but my favorite posts of all times was the "How to wrap 5 eggs" series. Learning about the book was wonderful, but I enjoyed even more your thoughts and writings on it. Thanks for all your incredible ideas and inspiration!

  14. Did I make it?

I already told you many things I like about the Gifted blog, including how interactive this blog is, and how it's not only practical but it's also fun to read! In a more philosophical sense, I am deeply inspired by how much thought you put into the smallest detail in wrapping these gifts and writing this blog- I think such mindfulness is a model of life we can all learn from.

  17. Even if I'm late in saying it - my favorite part of this blog is not the photos, or even the content - which are just fine and dandy BTW. I'd have to say it's Charissa charming and upbeat personality that keeps me coming back.

    You have heart.
