My Funny Family

My family is so funny. Here are some outstanding examples of their gift wrapping skills over the years. Thanks to Ballyhoo Bath for sponsoring this post.

Christmas 2009: My younger sister turns bedsheets into a giant furoshiki for my parents' gift.

G's Birthday 2009: A box of Smartwool socks is gift wrapped as spam musubi by my mother.

Christmas 2011: My cousin wraps her little brother's gift in duct tape in honor of his love of it.

Christmas 2009 (guess this was a big year for us!): My dad Santa gives my mom a new cordless phone with paper cup phones on top.

Family, I love you. Here's to many more years of silly gift wrapping!

  1. Hehehe. These are hilarious! I especially like the "sheets not included." In my house, we refer to towels as wrapping paper, because I once gave my spouse a really nice towel plus something else (don't even remember) as a present. The towel was the wrapping for the other gift.

    1. Anne, that's awesome. I like that, after the fact, all that stands out to you both is the gift wrapping! I asked my sister about what she gave my parents inside that big sheet-wrapped box...neither of us can remember.
      : )

  2. I hadn't seen the spam musubi one before! Hahaha how fun.

    1. I know, Mom is hilarious. I can't even think about why there was a connection between musubi and the socks in the first place. Maybe b/c spam and socks start with 's'? J/k.

  3. How creative and fun! Your family members have lots of interesting ideas! I like your mom's spam musubi, very cute. Your parents look so cute together too!

    1. Aren't they a hoot? I had fun putting together all these photos and remembering their funny gift wrapping ideas.
