10 Days, 10 Posts

I've been feeling a little ambivalent about blogging lately. I've been mulling over lots of thoughts about mothering, working, community, friendships...and from time to time, wondering how blogging fits into the current version of my life.

Yet The Gifted Blog is going to turn 5 years old next month. Wow! I can't walk away from it just yet. So for the next 10 days I'm going to write and publish a post a day. I usually take a long time to work on and tweak posts, but I'm hoping that writing something fresh every day will prime the pump a bit and help me see where I want to go next.

Today on my morning walk with the boys, we stopped to watch a neighbor get out of his car holding his dog. We almost passed by, but when I saw Mister in the front seat, I wheeled the stroller around so the boys could see the little terrier getting carried out by his owner.

This neighbor and I have had a few chats, but I was surprised when he told me today he was just back from making a delivery of green tea for his side business, and did I want a sample of tea? I said sure, and a few minutes later he emerged from his house with a silver pouch packed densely with tea. I love our neighborhood. I felt happy the rest of the walk, thinking about our chance meeting and the gift I had just been given.
