For the Birthday Girl | Wrap Story

One of the joys of our move to Seattle has been making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. When we moved from Pasadena I was sad to leave behind such dear, dear people. God is good and building a community for us here.

One of our new friends, Chiara, invited us to her 4th birthday party. Her family has become an important part of our lives and we were excited to join them. Chiara's mom helpfully suggested a tea set as a gift idea, so we gave some wooden bowls made by a Japanese American grandpa. (Buying them from him and his daughter-in-law, you got the sense that his garage was CHOCK FULL of these hand-lathed bowls.)

Round shapes are always hard to wrap, so I like using soft paper like this:

Yay for forgiving gift wrapping materials. I enjoyed picking out my girliest ribbon for the bow. Big and Little N joined me to make a card to get them involved in the gift-giving.

Happy birthday, dear Chiara! We are so happy to have you in our lives.

This Wrap Story is part of a series documenting every present I’ve wrapped since the launch of The Gifted Blog. Click here to see them all.
